Creation flows, for life is the movement of Being. Yoga is conscious union with the flow of Life. Stillness is not the absence of life, it is dynamic; it can be experienced whenever there is total, uninhibited, unconflicted participation in the moment you are in. When you are wholeheartedly present with what you are doing. In yoga we strive towards this stillness, to be centred, alive and joyful in amidst our busy lives.

the body self

The first reality is the reality of the body. The body self is a combination of body sensation, body functioning and body image. Accepting the body as part of the self and feeling that the self dwells in and through the body, having boundaries providing the membrane of what is 'me' and what is 'not-me', a coherence in the self which includes the body and psychological self as one, are parts of healthy growth and development in humans. The body self experience body images and self images cohere to form the sense of self,  a unity and continuity over time, space and state. Yoga can help reclaim this coherence that may be thwarted in people leading to various mental and physical pathologies.

body positive yoga

Yoga is not about developing or already possessing a pre-prescribed body type or making your body contort to ideal shapes, in fact these ideals are damaging to the self and the experience of yoga. Yoga is about being one with the body you are in, acceptance, ownership and LOVE. It is about feeling yourself from within, reconnecting movement to sensation, breathing to feeling and congruence. For that reason all bodies are welcome and celerbrated. A yoga teacher is not a doctor or an expert in anatomy and physiology but they will help you work with your constraints and support you in being kind and considerate to your body and its limitations.
